The wider an organization, the more sophisticated the skills the managers and seniors of such organization need to possess to be able to manage them. Such skills will enable them to obtain an accurate understanding of the needs of the organization and to propose and adopt appropriate strategies to tackle any possible problems or to further the institute to approach the vision envisioned for it. Decision making and monitoring Educational, research, cultural, institutional and developmental macro-plans indicate how the IAUKSH branch President has endeavored to improve the university.

IAUKSH branch President was officially opened in Mordad 1367.

Since its inauguration, the university has seen seven presidents. It can be proudly claimed that the IAUKSH branch is the biggest cultural-scientific and educational institution in the west of Iran. It owes its success to its hardworking presidents who each have made this success it is possible. Professor Ezzatollah Farshadfar (1367-1371), Ali Moradi (1371-1372), Dr Mohammad Bagher Qolivand (1371-1380), the late Haj Seyyed Davood Fahmi (1380-1384), Dr Mahdi Safdari (1384-1386), Dr Keyvan Qodrati (1386-1389), Dr Nowzar Ghanbari (1389-1391), and Dr, Keyvan Qodrati (1391-1392) have previously severed the institute as the president.

Recruitment office

Recruitment is an office subsumed under the Islamic Azad University whose duty is to see whether the Islamic Azad University Faculty and staff meet the general requirements for recruitment.

The recruitment office head is in charge of implementing the circulations handed down by the central recruitment organization in the related branch. All in all, the major duties of the recruitment office branches out into three areas: students, faculty members, and university staff.

This office is responsible for collecting, analyzing and researching on the general criteria the applicants need to meet in terms of their discipline, manners, political views and affiliations, scientific and expertise before they get recruited.

Detailing the duties of the recruitment office:

  • Developing and administering related questionnaires required by the branch and making evaluation and
  • Conducting enough research on the applicants and deciding on their liability for the suggested positions with regard to religious
  • Setting the interview sessions and assigning interviewers to do the job
  • Conducting the interviews with the applicants and announcing the verdict on their status
  • Studying the applicants’ files and announcing the verdict on the applicants status observing the Sharia  and approved criteria
  • Dealing with complaints filed against the recruitments
  • Constantly monitoring the staff and the faculty memebers
  • Responsible for examining the general authority f the executive board of recruitment in the province
  • Doing other duties contingent on the recruitment office decision


Cultural affair management in nutshell

Awareness of cultural varieties and multitudinous variations among nations and societies is considered to be one of the biggest achievements of Homo sapiens. Because all human schools of thought are deeply related and rooted in an intrinsic tendency toward God and if left unaffected by the vises of the worldly life, this intrinsic tendency can manifest itself in all aspects of human life. That said, the harmonious combination of the pure Islamic culture and the ancient Iranian cultural has brought abut the great story on which many a volume have been authored.

To get to know and study the Iranian religious society from various aspects would be too much a burned on anyone if not shoulder by the institutes of higher education and seminaries. Fortunately the academician and seminarists have taken the necessary steps to deal with this problem.

The deputy of cultural affairs of Islamic Azad University has taken a new approach toward cultural activities and has tried to direct the university cultural investments within a specific framework and a formulated plan based on the interaction of university and society.

University cultural campaigns are among the some of the measures taken by the cultural deputy of the university which have so far managed to attract a significantly large audience. These campaigns with their related centers have found themselves a special place with the academicians and are taking the development path under the support and surveillance of the deputy of cultural affairs of the university. It is hope that these efforts are effectual in promoting Islamic and Iranian culture with the academicians.

The deputy of cultural affairs of the university has played a significant role in realizing these goals among which one can point out the following:

  • Best place in development and dissemination of prayers culture for four successive periods
  • Achieving th top titles in Qoran and Itrat in International Qoran e Karim Exhibition.
  • Founding “Quran and Itrat” and “inter-cultural studies” research centers
  • Publishing several dozen books and science-research journals on various cultural issues

In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, the cultural affair office of Islamic Azad University of Kermanshah was established an independent unit and it has thus far managed to take big strides in promoting and the Islamic culture at university and has performed numerous cultural activities. Among which on can mention the following:

  • Remembering occasions and performing ceremonies: it has performed various religious ceremonies such as Islamic Eids of Mabaa’s,Eid Al-Ghadir, Al –Ada, Date of birth of holy Imams (AS), their decease and martyrdom dates, annual performance of the ceremony of the day of Arafah in Khosravi border, holding national and governmental ceremonies such as the decade of Islamic Revolution Fajr, The 7th of Tir, the 14th of Khordad the Anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini (RA), Basij week and the holy defence week, Anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr, the special occasion of the holy Ramadan, the first decade of Moharram ceremony, the Fatemiyeh Days, etc.
  • The holy grace-filled ceremony of Etekaf: since its establishment in 1380, the Etekaf campaign have plan and coordinated several thousand students to participate in this spiritual ceremony.
  • Prayer campaign: it organizes all the affairs related to holding noon and evening prayers in the University Mosque and at the same time it organizes holding prayers in sorority dormitory complex prayer rooms. It also performs the spiritual ceremony of Ziarat E Ashurah every Thursday morning and it holds special ceremonies on Qadr nights, etc.
  • Quran and Itrat Centers: it is responsible for running class interpreting and reading the Holy Quran, for holding large Quran circles with nationally and internationally renowned Quran reciters and teachers, for holding Quran and Itrat competitions (the registration and organization of the competitions at Preliminary and semifinal and final stages, announcing the results and giving the awards), for answering Quranic questions,  compilation and distribution of Quran Newsletters, etc…
  • Participating in holding conferences a nd seminars
  • Holding religious, tourism, and scientific camps
  • Compiling and distributing various publications and brochures to increase the awareness of the university students, faculty and staff

The office of cultural affairs for boys:

  • Deepening the students’’ understanding of religious beliefs and helping these beliefs manifest in their behavior.
  • Creating and spiritual atmosphere at university which is dynamic and evolving and in which religious values dominate.
  • Creating a scientific-cultural atmosphere in all university sections specially student and education offices.
  • Promoting the religious understanding of the university students and staff
  • Nurturing and discovering talents in Theology
  • Materializing the great leader’s order on making the universities Islamic
  • Training committed experts to perform Islamic culture activities
  • Changing and improving the male students’ dress code
  • Instructing the male students’ on religious examples and behaviors
  • Cultivating commitment to Islamic and humanistic values

Man duties:

  • Planning and holding cultural camps (camp for the selected, religious purposes, tourism, justifying the students)
  • Executing cultural visits
  • Planning and performing cultural and arts exhibitions
  • Planning to setup culture-arts centers
  • Planning and performing culture-arts competitions
  • Planning and holding competitions, roundtables, conferences and calls-for-participation
  • Development of Islamic affairs and sacrifice and martyrdom culture
  • Providing for the performance of Etekaf ceremony


Introducing Quran and Itrat center:

One of the sections which has an active role in working cultural plans of the university is the Quran and Itrat Center. This center was officially founded in IAUKSH branch in 1375. It has been active in various areas particularly in Quranic thoughts, familiarity with the life and behavior of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The goals of forming this center includes, inter alia, the following:

  • Holding onto the two principles (the holy Quran and Ahle Beit AS)
  • Investigating the requests of the Supreme Leader (MZA) concerning Islamizing the academia
  • Advancing research in applied Islamic and cultural areas
  • Deepening the academia’s understanding of the Holy Quran, Nahjol balagheh, and Sahifeye Sajjadieh
  • Flourishing Islamic/Quranic talents
  • Directing artistic talents in academia toward Quranic and religious values
  • Expanding religious knowledge and insight, and  Islamic beliefs and values
  • Establishing the appropriate atmosphere for a Quranic relationship between students and professors so that professors better explicate cultural messages to their students and help them deepen their cultural insights.
  • Improving the students’ scientific, religious and Quranic knowledge base
  • Removing the students’’ religious doubts
  • Finding appropriate ways to implement Quranic teachings in the life style of the students



Major responsibilities and duties

  • Attracting the students toward Quranic programs and encouraging them to participate in Quranic and Etrat competitions.
  • Making plans to hold Quranic and Etrat competitions based of the received circulars.
  • Making plans to hold gathering to spend a night with The Holy Quran (Circles of familiarizing the student with The Holy Quran)
  • Holding meeting with professors of Quranic lessons and discussing Quranic and Etrat Activities.
  • Making plans to hold extr curricular class on The Holy Quran and Etrat, particularly on Interpretation and Nahjul Balaghah.
  • Helping researchers conduct Quranic studies, and publishing and disseminating them among the studetns (through student journal and the cultural publication of the IAUKSH branch)


Introducing prayer staff

Considering the cultural mission of the Islamic Azad University and analyzing the recommendations of the Supreme Leader, the emphasis of circulars and constitutions, the IAUKSH branch with the purpose of implementing the cultural macro plan of the university and cultural dissemination of prayer and its status, and paving the grounds for designing and working Islamic plans, tries to make prayer center and religious staff active in developing and disseminating prayer culture and encouraging and praising worshipers to say their prayers  in groups and to run religious, and cultural camps for those actively participating in group prayers. The staff also holds Ahkam classes, competitions, forms prayer staff, and holds council of prayer staff meetings. They further follow up on the construction of a mosque for the IAUKSH branch in an area of 900 m2 in Imam Khomeini (RA) complex and a mosque in the faculty of agriculture in a area of 400 m2. The staff equips the mosques and plans to hold prayer-related fair and exhibitions in the mosques. The prayer staff, following the constitutions of the Supreme prayer staff and based on the study of the general symbols of mosques and the real needs of the students, has taken effective steps in magnificently holding the congregational prayer in university.

Major responsibilities and duties

  • Appreciating the distinguished clerks who have regularly attend the lines of congregational prayer at their respective offices.
  • Explicating the provision and philosophy of fasting and interpreting the holy Quran in the holy month of Ramadan by the congregational prayer Imams between the two prayers every day.
  • Executing the Supreme president of the Islamic Azad University for not holding classes during Adan or prayer time and informing the education deputy of all faculties of the order.
  • Constantly holding meetings with consultative prayer staff on certain, and necessary topics.
  • Collecting Hadiths and recommendations of Masumin in order to encourage student to pray
  • Running instructional course on Prayers and Ahkam for congregational prayer Imams.
  • Developing and distributing visual and audio materials on prayers.
